Tenants

NAVIGATION  Tenant Management > Configuration > Tenants

The Tenants page creates and deploys tenant partitions in the VSA. Each tenant partition you create requires you to also specify the modules and role types for that tenant partition.

Actions

  • New - Creates a new tenant partition.
    • Tenant Name - The name of the tenant partition.
    • Admin Name - The username for the initial user in the tenant partition. The initial user is by default, a System-level user. System-level users have access to all functions and data within their own tenant partition.
    • Admin Email Address - The email address of the initial user in the tenant partition.
    • Create Password / Confirm Password - The password for the initial user.
  • Activate Modules - Adds modules to the selected tenant partition.
  • Activate Role Types - Adds role types to the selected tenant partition.
  • Rename - Renames the selected tenant.
  • Delete - Deletes the selected tenant.
  • Toggle SOAP - Toggles SOAP API status formodule the selected tenant.

Activated Modules

You can perform the following actions on a added to a tenant partition.

  • Set Module License Limits - Sets license limits for each license type within a module. Some modules have no license types. Other modules have multiple license types. Within a tenant partition a VSA user can view the list of the license counts allocated for each license type using the System > User Security > License Manager > Licenses tab. A license for a tenant can never exceed the limit set for the entire VSA. License limits can be set using the following formats:
    • Numbers - Enter a number. The total of all tenant license limits for a given zzval cannot exceed what the VSA is licensed for.
    • Strings - String formats can vary. For example, Cloud Backup, Antivirus, Anti-Malware and Endpoint Security use 3 single letter strings.
      • P - A purchased license, the highest license level. If the VSA has a module set to P, then tenants can set that module to P, T, or N.
      • T - A trial license. If the VSA has a module set to T, then tenants can set that module to T or N, but not P.
      • N - Not licensed, the lowest license level. If the VSA has a module set to N, then tenants can set that module only to N.
    • Dates - Enter a date using the format MM/DD/YYYY. The date cannot exceed the date of the VSA license.
    • Booleans - 0 for false, 1 for true. Cannot be 1 (true) if the VSA license is 0 (false).
  • Update Usage Type - Updates usage type for the selected module.
  • Deactivate Module - Removes the selected module from the tenant partition.

NOTE   Agent license limits are not enforced by the system at the tenant level. If an individual tenant deploys more agents than they are licensed for, Licenses used may exceed License Limit.

Activated Role Types

You can perform the following actions on a role type added to a tenant partition.

  • Set Role Type Limit - Sets the maximum number of users allowed for a given role type within the tenant partition.
  • Deactivate Module - Removes the selected role type from the tenant partition.
