Windows service control action
The Windows service control action can start, stop, pause, continue and restart Windows services. All service actions share the same set of parameters.
Parameters
- Alarm number - The alarm count this action triggers on.
- Connect to -
Monitor host
orSpecific host
. If specific host, enter the Hostname. - Host name - Host name or IP number. Leave blank to use the address of the asset.
- Service name - Name of service. Leave this blank to get the service name from the monitor. This requires that the monitor executing this action be a Windows service status monitor with only one service configured to check.
- Type - Select the type of operation to perform.

Stop service
Restart service
- Credentials -
Monitor credentials
orStored credentials
. - Inherit credentials - If stored credentials is selected, the Inherit credential option displays. If checked, inherits credentials from the asset. If blank, enter action-specific credentials.
- Domain or Computer/Username/Password - Credential used to authenticate access for this action.
